She had been right; they had been waiting for her. This time there had been more humans and their metal tubes and she had not gotten off as easy as she had last time. The wound in her leg had reopened and one of the projectiles from the sticks had passed through her shoulder. The pain from the would alone made it hard to fly but she had lost a lot of blood getting away and she knew that the longer she flew around the more blood she would loose.
She had been able to run to the large pond that was nearby her hideout without being followed so she took a few moments to rest as she cleaned grit out of her wounds with the water. As the gravel and dirt was washed away the wound in her shoulder started to bleed more profusely. She ripped off a section of her hole ridden shirt and pressed it against the wound nearly crying out from the sudden pain. She sat there for a few minutes as the wound soaked the rag and eventually began to clot.
Mokuba loved the park. It was green and the trees blocked out a lot of the noise from the city. He was used to the noise but at times he loved the peace he found here. His brother had not wanted Mokuba to wander the park at night alone but when Mokuba had made an agreement to stay within yelling distance of his bodyguard who stayed near the car, Kiaba gave in. Usually he came to the park just to walk and relax and get some fresh air but tonight he was just restless.
He was worried about his brother and missed him. He had not been able to spend time with him for over a week due to Seto needing to work and was wondering if he should start going to the Kiaba Corp building and handing in the duel disk reports in person. Kiaba had been getting stressed with managing work and overseeing the duel disk testing so Mokuba had taken the duel disk tests so Seto could focus on work.
Mokuba stopped walking. He had been thinking about work again. He shook his head as if to shake out all the thoughts and worries. He spied a pebble a few steps away and walked up to it and kicked it with such ferocity that the pebble flew away out of site.
The boy stood there for a minute in thoughtlessness. He suddenly started to pond, he was not how he got to the decision to go there but he just continued walking on. The pond was his favorite place and also one of the places he was not supposed to go since it was out of the range of his bodyguard. He supposed he just wanted to see if it had changed or maybe he was feeling just a little rebellious and this was the only way he could break the rules.
The area around the pond not lit by the park lights and was a good area for anyone who wanted to ambush him and he stopped at the edge of the light. As he stared into the darkness his eyes adjusted and he could see the light shining off of the surface of the water and in that light the outline of a person kneeling by the water. He didn’t know who would be here at this time but he could tell something was off since while the silhouette was human it was also not human at the same time.
He got curious and stepped closer, stepping on a branch as he did. The noise alerted the figure t his presence and it turned around.
